The Canopy Walk is a Popular Stop in Midland, MI
It’s been open for less than a year but people have found this elevated walk through the trees because it is accessible and just plain cool.
Officially known as Whiting Forest of Dow Gardens, this Midland family attraction is open year round (minus Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day) and does require admission.
Your ticket gets you into the Canopy Walk as well the adjacent Gardens (we hear there is an amazing Children’s garden – somehow we missed that and need to go back!)

The Nature-Inspired Playground is Within Sight
You’ll be able to see the playground from the Canopy Walk – it’s just steps away.
In the summer there is water play integrated into the play structure, so you might want to bring a change of clothes.
We found the playground geared toward littler kids – our 9 and 12 year old were just too big.
Happily, restrooms and a cafe sit right next to the playground.
This place can get busy – a visit early or late in the day – or midweek can help with that.
